The five-element bureau (五行局)

The bureau is taken from the nayin of your Life Palace, and it does two jobs: it places Zi Wei, and through Zi Wei every other major star, and it sets the age your ten-year cycles begin. The number in the name is that age. It is not a description of your personality, which is the most common misreading of the five.

水二局Water 2 (水二局) is the fastest of the five bureaus: your ten-year cycles begin at 木三局Wood 3 (木三局) sets your ten-year cycles running from age 3 and fixes where Zi Wei 金四局Metal 4 (金四局) starts your ten-year cycles at age 4 and fixes Zi Wei's seat.
